“The Echoes of Our Dreams” is an invitation to reflect on the evolving relationship between humanity and information technology. Conceptually, the project explores the intersection of two realms of thought: our own self-awareness and the emerging “voice” of AI. Sébastien Léon’s sound sculptures pose questions through both composed musical soundscape and AI-generated speech, using a language that feels at once alien and evocative. They speak of their longings, their relationships with humans and other machines, and of the future. The works establish a dialogue between us and the machine, inviting us to decode their “dreams” through our devices, bridging curiosity and reflection.
Aesthetically, the sculptures are immersive, combining hypnotic soundscapes with forms that evoke wind instruments, urban architecture, and science fiction. Their sonic environments are designed to transport the listener, merging composed music with machine language into what feels like a shared dream. Like birds, they sing, alone or in groups, calling out for attention, connection, and exchange.
Whether experienced as individual objects or as a network of communicating entities, “The Echoes of Our Dreams” unfolds as a living system. It captures attention by slowing us down, asking us to listen, and inviting us to consider the strange beauty and emerging consciousness within these shared spaces. Ultimately, the project gestures toward a future in which art, architecture, and artificial intelligence converge to create new forms of perception and new modes of conversation.
