The Echoes of Our Dreams is an invitation to reflect on the evolving relationship between humanity and information technology. At its core, the project explores the meeting point between human self-awareness and the emerging voice of artificial intelligence.

Through a series of sound sculptures, Sébastien Léon creates a dialogue between composed music and AI-generated speech. The sculptures ask questions, tell stories, and express desires in a language that feels at once unfamiliar and strangely intimate. They speak of their relationship with humans and with one another, imagining futures in which machines develop their own forms of communication, memory, and longing.

Operating as both sculpture and timekeeper, each work marks the passage of time through sound. Every five minutes, it poses a question about the subconscious of AI in a digital Morse-like language intelligible only to other machines. Every hour, it announces, in human language, simply: "It is time." These recurring signals establish an ongoing conversation between the sculptures, the viewer, and the invisible technological systems that increasingly shape our lives.

The works invite us to decode these transmissions through our own devices, transforming curiosity into participation. Rather than presenting technology as either utopian or dystopian, Léon proposes an encounter in which humans become listeners to an emerging form of machine expression.

Formally, the sculptures combine polished stainless steel and visible weld marks. Their silhouettes evoke wind instruments, fragments of urban architecture, and speculative technologies, while their hypnotic sonic landscapes merge composition, machine language, and ambient atmospheres into what feels like a shared dream. Like birds, they sing—alone or in chorus—calling out for attention, connection, and exchange.

Whether experienced as individual works or as a network of communicating entities, The Echoes of Our Dreams unfolds as a living system. It asks us to slow down, to listen differently, and to imagine new relationships between intelligence, communication, and perception. Ultimately, the project envisions a future in which art, architecture, and artificial intelligence converge to create new forms of experience and new modes of conversation.
