French-born multidisciplinary artist and musician Sébastien Léon unveils his latest musical project, RREALITÉ, a post-80s pop album that fuses dark humor and jaded philosophical commentary on our meta-modern world.
Composed and produced between Los Angeles and New York, RREALITÉ is a sonic mirror of the artist’s broader practice — one that blurs the lines between design, sculpture, and sound. The record traverses dystopian themes such as AI, climate anxiety, digital surveillance, cloning, drone warfare, and social media alienation, all delivered through sharply crafted melodies and a cinematic production that recalls the synth-driven textures of the 1980s filtered through a contemporary, ironic lens.
“I wanted to make a record that speaks to the absurdity of our time — how we live between simulation and reality, constantly scrolling through a world that’s melting,” says Léon. “It’s danceable dystopia — cynical, melancholic, yet strangely hopeful.”
With songs like “Plastic Island,” “Apocalifornia,” “Fossil Fuel,” and “ACTG,” the album forms a lyrical trip through the post-human psyche, blending satirical wordplay with lush analog synths, shimmering guitars, and haunting vocals.
The visual world of RREALITÉ extends Léon’s fascination with illusion — the cover art and videos depict liquid-metal landscapes and alien topographies, evoking a universe where beauty and collapse coexist.
Léon’s collaborators include long-time partners Kaia Fischer (Rainer Maria) and Lucola, shaping an album that feels both handcrafted and hyper-synthetic — the analog warmth of the studio meeting the algorithmic cold of AI-generated stems.
