THE TIES THAT BIND MY ENDLESS SKIES
The Ties That Bind My Endless Skies consists of repeated drawings of geometric forms, conceived as loose studies for sculptures, furniture, or installations. Repeated in a hypnotic rhythm, each iteration unfolds as a slight temporal shift, as if the form itself were evolving through time.
This evolving body of work drew the attention of Champagne house Krug, leading to a series of commissions through which the work expanded beyond drawing, unfolded across packaging, furniture, video animations, music, and a sound sculpture. The collaboration culminated in the design of an experiential pop-up restaurant at the Plaza Athénée in Paris in collaboration with Michelin-star chef Alain Ducasse.Through this arc, a meditative drawing practice was transformed into a fully immersive, multi-sensory environment
The dinner started with a Cristal Baschet and lap steel guitar performance creating musical journey through vast American desert landscapes. Guests were were then invited to a dining room by Sébastien Léon with specially-designed seating and tables. Guests were then invited to the hotel rooftop where they discovered the Cariléon, a custom acoustic sculpture played by rare instrument specialist Loup Barrow, creating seamless melodies played by himself and the wind.
Other musicians featured the “Krug en Capital” platform include Ryuichi Sakamoto, Jacky Terrasson, and Ozark Henry.
